HiveTek Corporation ("HiveTek", "we", "us") provides AWS consulting, managed services and billing services. This policy explains what we collect when you use hivetekcorp.com or request a free AWS assessment, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
We have tried to write this in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email contact@hivetekcorp.com and a person will answer.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in a form on this site — the contact form, an event registration, a proof-of-concept intake, or the free AWS assessment request — we collect what you type. For the assessment that is your name, work email, phone number if you choose to give one, company name, and your approximate monthly AWS spend.
Billing data from your AWS account. If you deploy our assessment CloudFormation template and give us the cross-account role it creates, that role lets us read your AWS billing and usage data: which services you ran, in which accounts and regions, and what they cost.
The role can also switch on AWS's own cost-optimization features in your account, because those are what produce the recommendations your report is built from. Those are billing settings.
We do not read your application data, your databases, your storage contents, your secrets or your customers' information, and nothing we do changes a running resource. You can review exactly what the role permits in the CloudFormation template before you deploy it.
Information we collect automatically. Your browser and device type, the pages you view, the site you arrived from, and any campaign parameters in the link you clicked. We record the date and time when you submit a form, because that is our record that you asked to hear from us.
Why we use it
- To send you the assessment you asked for, and the template that produces it
- To analyse your AWS billing data and write the report
- To contact you about that report and, if you want it, to arrange a conversation
- To respond to enquiries, register you for events, and run proof-of-concept engagements
- To send you occasional emails about AWS cost and related services, if you asked for them. Every such email has an unsubscribe link and we act on it
- To measure which marketing campaigns bring us people we can genuinely help
- To keep the site secure, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations
If you are in the UK or the EEA: we rely on your consent for marketing email and non-essential cookies, on the performance of a contract for delivering an assessment you requested, and on our legitimate interest in running and improving our business for everything else. You can withdraw consent at any time.
How the report is produced
Your assessment is produced by Sherpa, the AWS cost platform HiveTek uses in house. It runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States and reads the billing data described above to produce the analysis you receive.
Your billing data is not used to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's. It is processed to produce your report and nothing more.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
We use service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage and the analysis that produces your report (United States)
- Microsoft 365 — our email. If you reply to us, that correspondence lives in our mailboxes
- Google — website analytics and advertising measurement
- Lovable — hosting for this website and delivery of email we send you
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If our business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer with it, and we would tell you first.
How long we keep it
- Contact and lead information: we keep this until you ask us to delete it. If you tell us to remove your details, we will delete them.
- Your AWS billing data: 90 days after we send your report. If you do not go on to work with us we delete it, and you are welcome to ask us to confirm that.
- Your report: kept alongside your record for the same period, so we can send it again if you ask.
- Records of consent and unsubscribes: kept as long as we need them to show we handled your preferences correctly.
Deleting the role in your AWS account cuts off our access immediately. The S3 bucket and billing export the template created stay in your account until you delete the stack — we will walk you through that whenever you want.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Stop using it for marketing, or object to a particular use
- Send you a copy in a portable format
Email contact@hivetekcorp.com. We will respond within 30 days, and sooner where the law requires it. We will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.
To stop marketing email, use the unsubscribe link in any message or visit our unsubscribe page. We will still send you messages about an assessment you actively requested.
If you are in California: the categories above are what we collect and the purposes above are why. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Use the same address to make a request — we will verify who you are before we act.
If you are in the UK or the EEA: you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, and Google Ads measurement to see which campaigns work. These store information in your browser. Where the law requires consent we ask before storing anything that is not strictly necessary, and you can change your mind at any time.
You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser add-on.
We do not send your email address or phone number to Google Analytics. Where we measure whether an advertising click led to a real enquiry, any identifier we send to Google is cryptographically hashed first.
Where your information goes
We are based in the United States and our service providers process data in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be transferred there. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or the EEA, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
Access to your data is restricted to the people who need it. Billing data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the role you grant us is scoped to billing data and cost settings alone — it cannot reach your applications, your data or any running resource. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affected your information we would tell you and the relevant regulator without undue delay.
Children
This site is for business use. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will email you.
