Assessment Terms

These terms cover the free AWS assessment. They are short on purpose.

What you get, and what it costs

The assessment is free and carries no obligation. You keep the report whether or not you go any further with us, and there is nothing to cancel if you decide not to.

What the report is

It is an analysis of your AWS billing data, produced by Sherpa, the AWS cost platform HiveTek uses in house.

Figures in the report are estimates based on your historical usage. They are not a guarantee of future savings, and they are not financial, tax or legal advice. What you actually spend depends on decisions you make and on AWS pricing, which changes.

Please check anything in the report against your own AWS console before acting on it. We are happy to walk through it with you.

Timing

We send your report by the end of the second business day after we receive access to your billing data. Some findings rely on AWS data that accumulates over time, so an account that has only just been connected may show fewer recommendations than one we have been reading for a few weeks.

What we access

You deploy a CloudFormation template in your own AWS account. It creates an S3 bucket, a billing export that lands in it, and a role scoped to cost data. The role lets us read that billing data and switch on AWS's own cost-optimization features, which is what produces the recommendations in your report. It has no access to your applications or infrastructure — you can review exactly what it permits in the template before you deploy it.

The data is yours and it stays in your account. You are free to analyse it yourself instead of, or as well as, having us do it.

You can end our access at any time by deleting the role. Deleting the whole stack also removes the bucket and the export it created. How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Your responsibilities

Please only connect an AWS account you are authorised to connect. If you are not the person who manages your organisation's AWS account, pass the request to whoever is.

Liability

The assessment is provided as-is. To the fullest extent the law allows, HiveTek Corporation is not liable for any loss arising from decisions taken on the basis of the report. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
